Thelma Riley, now the ex-wife of Ozzy Osbourne, became popular after she married the musician, who was a member of the famous band The Black Sabbath. However, in the years that followed their marriage, Thelma and Ozzy faced numerous challenges due to the musician’s drug abuse and alcoholism problems, which became more intolerable every day during their 10 years of marriage.

Thelma Riley met Ozzy Osbourne in the early 1970s at a nightclub called the Rum Runner somewhere in Birmingham. It was at the beginning of Osbourne’s musical career. Thelma Riley was a nightclub staff member at the time, and they fell in love after meeting. Wedding bells were soon ringing as the lovers tied the knot in 1971.

However, their relationship had a difficult time due to Osbourne’s substance abuse problems and his habit of cheating, even his children testified that he did not treat the father figure well. Moreno Osbourne admitted all the allegations in a short video where he revealed that he didn’t even know his children’s birthdays. Thelma Riley’s ex-husband’s birth name was John Michael and his hometown was Birmingham, England, where he was also raised by his parents. In his early years, he had an ear for music, and according to him, the song “She Loves You,” which was a release by The Beatles in the early 1960s, sparked his interest in a career as a musician.

Osbourne’s career began with a small group that started in the late 1960s, consisting of 4 people – Geezer Butler, Tony Lummie, Ozzy Osbourne and Bill Ward. The four formed a group that they called the Polka Tulk Blues. Over time, the name of the four-piece band was changed to Earth and eventually to Black Sabbath. In 1970, Black Sabbath released their own album, and this was the beginning of a series of albums coming from the band.

However, Ozzy was expelled from the band in 1979 due to a drug addiction problem that went out of control – as it wreaked havoc not only on his career but also on Thelma Riley and the children. After her divorce, Thelma Riley retreated from public life and worked as a schoolteacher in Leicestershire, England.
